From Josef Hoffmann to Leo Wollner

A theme developed by Josef Hoffmann and continued by Leo Wollner. It is fascinating to see the variations over decades from the early years of the 20th century to the 70-ties.

But before you look at the designs of these two artists and designers there is one aspect almost forgotten in our digital age: There were NO digital tools in those days… all you see is hand drawn - no copy paste. These artists had wonderful hand drawing skills!

First you see the two designs by Josef Hoffmann (early 20th century) and then below the curtain “Sling” by Leo Wollner. He developed and designed this three meter print for Knoll International and received for his “Sling” an award in 1971.
